Day 1: After Tea....

4.30pm

Now then, Squidoo. This google-sticky site recently changed its rules or is about to change them so I need to be savy when setting this up.

Firstly, set up a blog which will have a post to act as my money page. I have uploaded wordpress using fantastico. Looked for themes. First was ok but had a black background which is not good for increasing viewing so I discounted that one. Uploaded essential plugins, and ready to roll

Day 1: Down to Business

I have just read Howie's email. Have to do it! It had to be hawaii. Have been 3 times and LOVE it! (Not that a niche should only revolve around interests but Passion helps).

Today:
1. Started this blog
2. Opened new Twitter Account: HawaiiHoneymoon. Also opened Hawaii4honeymoon@googlemail.com
3. Registered this account with Twellow: (1 and a half hours ago)am

following 156,
5 followers

4. used market samurai (brilliant) for keyword search.Looked a Google keyword Tool External - found demand. Looked at Google trends "hawaii honeymoon packages"- healthy demand. Looks like its becoming more popular. Tried not to get disctracted by other Google Hot trends - is Rick Astley really dead?

Also noticed that searches are coming from US, Canada, Oz and Uk (remember for PPC)

5. found all affiliate programs I registered with re Hawaii products/services a while back (before I went on holiday there last I wanted to do a blog/monetised blog but wifi in hotels let me down bigtime,)

6. bought www.BestHawaiiHoneymoon.com

7. used your info-product generation tool (really is better than sliced bread) on Hawaii Honeymoon primarly to find a marketing angle.

8. started a lens (squidoo) "hawaii honeymoon packages"

Read your email at 1.45, off to collect kids from school now (3.20pm)

Who Is The Most Remarkable Marketer?

Me!

I have been marketing online since 1st July 2006. It has been an incredible journey. I started off wanting to earn a little money online and found out that there could be surveys (I think we have all been there)that I could do from home. Prior to this, I had my own Interior Design business which had run well and I had enjoyed it but I found it to be so stressful and limiting in what I could achieve.

Surveys didn't work either, MLM was next. That just seemed ridiculous - reminded me of a "friend" trying to pitch Amway. I bought a home publishing DVD series which was excellent. I realised what I could do but I also realised that all that effort would be for nothing if I didn'y learn how to market online. I then moved onto PPC.

I bought an ebook off Clickbank which basically said ...if you copy this you will be a millionaire. I did, and I made 20 odd dollars - but this was great. I am a realist not to expect that what they said would really happen! The campaign was though, something that really worked (albeit with a little fine tuning). Next, I tried my hand at Clickbank and entered the download music niche without any knowledge really of how keywords and adwords worked. This time I made over $350 but spent over $500 all in 3 days. This was pre-Google slap, I tried another, spent ages setting up the campaign, then Google did slap me hard. But interestingly, it was literally the next day that the slap happened as I saw my keywords listed as $10 each and thought, niavely, that it was due to how I had set up my campaign on the adwords side, not my site. It was only much later that I realised what had happened.

Anyway, I paused for thought and bought Adwords Miracles and this was life changing. I then spent many weeks of planning, working out, testing but I was put on the spot by my husband who wanted a website for his business. He is a surgeon and wanted an info site www.yourvasectomyreversal.co.uk. I wrote this for him and just happened to mention about this new method of marketing I had come across - adwords - he asked me to set up his campaign which I did and is still running today. In the UK, medics are not allowed to advertise either themselves or products that they support which is why this is not a monetized site. He has busy operating lists every week where people have found his information helpful.

Subsequently, I have written the copy for another site www.nottinghamprostateclinic.co.uk and am currently working on another 2 for him.

Since that first site, I have read virtually every ebook going. From Blogging To the Bank (all editions) to Killer Day Job and everything in between.

I have done your apprentice course which I found stimulating, incredible and overwhelming at the same time. It is only afterwards that I understand it more - this is not a criticism. I refer to it often and have written many squidoo pages, hubpages and the likes.
